I had the incredible opportunity to perform on Penn & Teller: Fool Us—an experience that every magician dreams about but few get to live. Walking onto that stage in Las Vegas, under those bright studio lights, with two of the most respected names in magic watching intently, was both surreal and thrilling. I had spent months preparing a routine that was not only polished but had a strong narrative hook, something I hoped would resonate with both the audience and the duo sitting just a few feet away.
The pressure was intense. Unlike a typical live show, every detail mattered more than ever—camera angles, timing, audience reactions, and of course, whether or not Penn & Teller could figure out how I did it. Backstage, the energy was electric. Everyone from the crew to the fellow performers was rooting for each other, which created a surprisingly supportive atmosphere for what is essentially a televised challenge. When it came time to perform, I focused entirely on the moment, trusting in the thousands of hours I had put into my craft.
Although I didn’t walk away with the “Fool Us” trophy, the experience was unforgettable. Performing for a global TV audience and receiving feedback from two legends of magic was both humbling and validating. It pushed me creatively, gave my work a huge boost in visibility, and reminded me why I fell in love with magic in the first place: to connect with people and leave them with a sense of wonder.
